Arcamed's OMTEC Presentation on Automation & AI

OMTEC Presentation: Arcamed Shares Insight on the Importance of Automation & AI

This week, Arcamed shared its strategic investments in automation and AI with OMTEC 2026.

Led by Arcamed President and CEO, Jon Desalvo, the presentation dove into Arcamed’s five-year journey to becoming an industry-leading partner in high-mix/low-volume manufacturing, and the growth that is yet to come.

Arcamed was founded with the awareness that automation and innovation are the future of manufacturing”, Jon explains. “We have taken our investments piece by piece, starting with the simplest and most repeatable tasks and growing year by year... Since then, our investments in automation and AI have established consistency in our quality and delivery metrics and cut down on lead times and cost.

Automation and AI have transformed Arcamed from humble beginnings to an established name for consistency. As a future-forward company, reinvesting into manufacturing capabilities has always been a clear path forward to success. However, technological equipment can only go so far on its own. Arcamed recognizes that a dedicated team of professionals is needed to set the standard for success and keep the cycle moving.

It takes more than just expensive machinery to run a job correctly. You need a team of professionals who know how to put the right systems in place in order to translate investment into results.

A team of professionals is just what Arcamed has. With a dedicated Continuous Improvement Department designed to maximize automation capabilities along with experienced engineers and programmers, the company is prepared to match any problem and deliver on any deadline.

Through these investments, we have transformed our quality, delivery, and speed metrics. I am proud to say that we currently sit at 99.2% OTD, 98.1% ODF, and 98.3% OTIF with even more improvement on its way.

Press Release: Conexus Indiana Names Arcamed’s Dominic Desalvo to Rising 30 Class of 2026

Indianapolis Arcamed’s Programming Team Lead, Dominic Desalvo, has been named to Conexus Indiana’s Rising 30 Class of 2026 for his work in advanced manufacturing and logistics.

Presented by Katz, Sapper & Miller (KSM), the Rising 30 program spotlights Hoosiers 30 years old and younger whose early-career contributions demonstrate the depth of talent driving Indiana’s largest industry sector forward. Each honoree was nominated by an employer or industry representative and selected based on professional accomplishments and demonstrated impact.

Dominic Desalvo drives efficiency and collaboration at Arcamed through his strong foundation in both design and production. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Design Engineering and Technology and is certified in Mastercam and SolidWorks. With six years of experience programming CNC machines and two years dedicated to reviewing designs for manufacturability, Dominic ensures our products meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

He finds fulfillment in knowing that the products Arcamed manufactures help improve people’s lives, making his daily work even more meaningful. He is also proud of fostering a strong, collaborative relationship between the Manufacturing and Engineering teams through ongoing Design for Manufacturability (DFM) initiatives. Outside of work, Dominic is an avid enthusiast of 3D printing.

“Dom has grown with our organization since joining us in high school, and his progression has been deliberate and well-earned", says Arcamed Continuous Improvement & Programming Manager, Aaron Kane. "After graduating from Trine with a degree in engineering, he’s stepped into a CNC programming team lead role where he’s driving both technical execution and team leadership. He is gaining a strong understanding of manufacturing, takes ownership of his work, and continues to raise the standard for those around him. This recognition reflects the trajectory he’s built through consistent performance and discipline”.

The 2026 cohort reflects the true breadth of Indiana’s AML sector. Honorees hold roles spanning quality engineering and controls, supply chain and logistics, finance and business development, materials science and R&D, operations leadership and IT and systems infrastructure. The honorees work for organizations of every size and type—from global automotive manufacturers and life sciences companies to homegrown startups and regional economic development organizations—and they are based in communities across the state. Nine Indiana colleges and universities are represented among this year's honorees, a reflection of the depth of the state's talent pipeline.

“Young talent is one of Indiana’s greatest competitive advantages in advanced manufacturing and logistics,” said Jay Wirts, President and CEO of Conexus Indiana. “What makes this class so exciting is what they reflect about the industries themselves. They’re high-tech, sophisticated and constantly evolving. These 30 individuals aren’t waiting to shape the future of Indiana manufacturing. They’re already doing it.”

AML is the backbone of Indiana's economy, accounting for more than a third of the state's GDP and employing hundreds of thousands of Hoosiers. Recognizing and developing young talent in the sector through the Rising 30 program is one way Conexus helps to keep that foundation strong.

In the year ahead, Rising 30 honorees will engage with Conexus Indiana’s programming as thought leaders, lending their perspectives on technology adoption, workforce development and the future of Indiana’s manufacturing and logistics industries.
