Arcamed Celebrates 15 Years of Continuous Growth

This year we celebrate 15 years of Arcamed. We started in 2011 as a small Indianapolis start-up building surgical case and tray systems. Today we're a full contract manufacturing partner for orthopedic device makers, from early-stage companies to global enterprises. This milestone belongs to the team behind Arcamed and the customers who have trusted us with their business.

Where it started

We opened our doors as a contract manufacturer of medical cases and trays: the sterilization systems that organize and protect instruments and implants on their way to the operating room. Every system we build is made for a specific procedure, so from day one our work has demanded precision, fast turnaround, and close partnership with our customers' engineering teams.

Growing our capabilities

Our success has come from investing in our team. Upskilling is part of who we are, with training tailored to each person and open to every age group. Through Purdue MEP, our people trained in Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma to sharpen our processes ahead of our plant expansion. With support from an Indiana Manufacturing Readiness Grant, we added two cobots and a part-bending cell to grow capacity, and we made sure everyone knew that technology is here to support our people, not replace them.

As demand grew, we chose to invest in new technology and training, rather than compromise on speed, quality, or price. With support from an Indiana Manufacturing Readiness Grant, we built a strategic roadmap for smart manufacturing and a four-year plan with a dedicated technology budget. The first steps were two collaborative robots and a part-bending cell, part of an effort to nearly double our capacity and run more efficiently.

Here's to the next fifteen

To everyone who has machined, formed, inspected, packed and shipped an Arcamed part, and to every customer who has trusted us with one: thank you. Fifteen years in, our focus is the same as ever: Arcamed exists to be an empowering and fulfilling workplace for our employees and to exceed the expectations of our customers as an indispensable partner. We can't wait to see what the next fifteen bring.
